The transitional housing called The Journey Home will host an open house on November 11, 2013 from 7 -9 p.m. at 325 S. Oak St., Winchester, IN 47394. The open house will celebrate the veterans of the area and the soon to open facility. The public will be invited to tour the facility and ask questions about the fund raising process in place. Information about the program will be available along with the guidelines of the program. Construction work may still be in progress for the apartment needed for the House Parents of The Journey Home, but the entire housing will be open to the public. The dining room, kitchen, living quarters, office area, house parents apartment as well as one or more of the bedrooms with bathrooms will be open to review.
All donors are welcome, the public, elected officials, and especially our veterans are invited to tour the facility as a work in progress. The Board of Directors will be available to address any questions and assist in the tours. Light refreshments will be served. Donations are not required to attend, there is no cost for this event. Should a donation be made it should be made to “Community Foundation of Randolph County” with a notation in the memo line for: “The Journey Home”
