Attention Naturalists and Survivalists | Darke County Parks Hosts Upcoming Events

Darke County Parks is hosting upcoming events for naturalists and survivalists.

At Shawnee Prairie Preserve, on January 24th at 6:30pm, there will be a learning event focusing on the Great Horned Owl. Afterwards, there will be a short hike to see if any of the 5 species that reside near Shawnee Prairie can be spotted. While it will be free, it is nessasary to pre-register. You can do so by calling 937.548.0165.

The second event, also at Shawnee Prarie, is a lesson in the basics of winter survival. You will learn the basics of firemaking and shelter building. It will take place Saturday, January 26th from 2-5pm. It is open to all ages over 10 (under 10 must be accompanied by an adult). It will be outside, so dress accordingly.
