Downtown Union City was filled with people on Thursday night as they celebrated Christmas in the City. The Community Room was filled with families buying cookies and candies, children waiting to have their pictures taken with Santa, people enjoying soup and sandwiches provided by J & J Vending and picking out their favorite nuts being sold by the Lions Club.
It was a beautiful and crisp evening walking through the downtown streets and gazing at all the window displays that the local businesses had decorated. You could discover everything from Nativity scenes, the Polar Express train set, Christmas trees and twinkling lights and much more. After looking at the window displays, you could venture into various locations to hear wonderful music ranging from an acoustical performance, harp and violin, singing, and the bells ringing from the Shriners. When you were tired of walking, you could take advantage of the horse and carriage and see the city under the warmth of blankets.
You couldn't ask for a better night for this event and there was a wonderful turnout and Christmas cheers were had by all. Don't forget to head out to Harter Park this Christmas season to enjoy the lights, decorations, music and gift shop!
